Developed by Adobe in 1993 and now an open ISO standard (<strong>ISO 32000<\/strong>, standardized in 2008), PDF \u201cencapsulates a complete description of a fixed-layout document\u201d that looks the same on any platform \u2014 a PDF made on a Mac renders identically on Windows or a phone.
