PSD to DivX Converter

PSD is the layered Adobe Photoshop document; DivX is a video codec. This converter flattens your PSD into a single image and wraps it in a short, silent DivX video clip that simply holds that one picture on screen — it does not turn separate layers into an animation. It exists mainly when an older media player or device expects a DivX/AVI file and you only have a static design to show.

What This Conversion Actually Produces

A PSD has no timeline, so there is nothing to "play." The converter composites all visible layers down to one flat frame and encodes that frame as a DivX video for the duration you choose. A few honest consequences:

  • Layers are flattened. No layer, mask, or text data survives inside a video — you get the merged picture only. Keep the original PSD if you still need to edit.
  • Transparency is filled in. DivX has no alpha channel, so any transparent areas are composited onto the Background Color you pick (black by default).
  • There is no audio. An image carries no sound, so the DivX clip is silent. If you upload several PSDs with Merge images selected, they play back-to-back as a basic slideshow.

How to Convert PSD to DivX

  1. Upload Your PSD File: Drag and drop your .psd onto the page or click "Add Files." Add several files if you want them merged into one clip.
  2. Set Image Duration and Background Color: Pick how long the still is shown under Image Duration (default 5 seconds per frame), and choose a Background Color to fill any transparent areas.
  3. Choose Resolution and Quality Preset: Use the Video resolution presets to set output size, and leave File Compression on the Very High quality preset for a clean frame.
  4. Convert and Download: Click "Convert" to get your DivX file. Files are uploaded over an encrypted connection, processed on our servers, and deleted automatically after a few hours. No sign-up, no watermark.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will my Photoshop layers be animated in the DivX video?

No. The PSD is flattened to a single merged frame first, and that one frame is held on screen for the duration you set. There is no motion between layers — for real animation you need to build a timeline in video software and export from there.

What happens to transparent areas in my PSD?

DivX has no alpha channel, so any transparency is composited onto the Background Color you select. Black is the default; choose white or another color if it suits your artwork better. If you instead want to keep transparency in a still image, convert to PNG with PSD to PNG — PNG supports an alpha channel where JPEG does not.

Why is the DivX clip silent?

An image file contains no audio track, so this conversion (image to video) produces a silent clip by design. There is no audio option to enable because there is no source sound to encode.

Should I use DivX or MP4 for a clip I want to share?

For sharing and modern playback, MP4 (H.264) is the better choice — it is more universally supported across phones, browsers, and players than the older MPEG-4 Part 2 DivX codec. Use PSD to MP4 unless a specific older device or DivX-certified player actually requires a DivX/AVI file.

Can I just get a flattened image instead of a video?

Yes. If you do not need a video at all, convert the PSD to a normal image: PSD to JPG for a compact flattened picture, or PSD to PNG when you need to keep transparency. The DivX route only makes sense when a player specifically expects video.

Is the conversion private?

Your file is uploaded over an encrypted connection, processed on our servers, and deleted automatically after a few hours. There is no sign-up, no watermark, and files are never shared or made public.
