DivX is a video format, so this conversion wraps one raw photo into a short, silent DivX clip that simply holds that image on screen for a set number of seconds. It does not animate anything; if you want a normal viewable picture instead, convert ARW to JPG, and if you want a clip that plays everywhere, ARW to MP4 is the more universal choice.

No. ARW is a single still photo and carries no audio track, so the output is a silent video. The clip simply displays your image for the duration you set — there is nothing to play back beyond the picture itself.
No. ARW holds 14-bit unprocessed sensor data so you can recover highlights and shift white balance. DivX is 8-bit video, so the conversion bakes the raw down to a fixed, processed image. Do any exposure or color edits on the ARW first; once it is a DivX clip, that flexibility is gone.
Usually you would not. DivX (MPEG-4 Part 2) is a dated codec with much narrower device support than MP4 (H.264). Choose DivX only when you specifically need it for an older DivX-certified player or a legacy AVI workflow. For a clip you want to share or play on a phone, ARW to MP4 is the better target.

It follows the output Video Resolution preset you choose, not the raw's native pixel count. Sony ARW files are very high resolution, so the still is scaled to the preset before being encoded as DivX video. Match the resolution to where the clip will play — there is no benefit to encoding a photo at more pixels than the target screen can show.

Because the clip is one unchanging image. DivX uses inter-frame (MPEG-4 Part 2) compression, so after the first frame it only stores what changes — and nothing changes when a still is held on screen, so those frames cost almost nothing. A multi-megapixel ARW that would be large as a photo becomes a compact video precisely because it is the same frame repeated.
