ICO is a Windows icon image — a small square still picture, usually 16 to 256 pixels per side. M2V is an MPEG-2 video elementary stream: a video-only file with no audio and no container, used as an intermediate when authoring DVDs. This converter turns a single icon into a short, silent MPEG-2 video clip of that one image, which you can later mux with a separate audio stream in a DVD-authoring tool. An M2V file holds only MPEG-2 video — by definition it carries no audio track at all. So the output is silent for two reasons: the source is a still image with no sound, and the M2V format cannot store audio even if there were any. No. ICO files can carry a 32-bit alpha channel for transparency, but MPEG-2 video has no alpha channel. Any transparent areas of the icon are flattened against the Background Color you choose during conversion. An icon is small — often 32x32 or 256x256 pixels — while video resolutions like 720p or 1080p are far larger. When the encoder scales the icon up to fill the frame, the few original pixels are stretched, so edges look soft or blocky.
