This tool wraps one CR3 still into a short, silent MPEG-2/VOB clip that displays that single image for a duration you choose, which is mainly useful as source material for DVD-authoring software. How to Convert CR3 to VOB

Frequently Asked Questions
Will the VOB file play as a DVD on its own?
No. The converter produces the MPEG-2/VOB stream only. A playable DVD-Video disc also needs the IFO and BUP navigation files and the full VIDEO_TS folder, which is built by DVD-authoring software. Treat the .vob here as source material you feed into that authoring step, not a finished disc.
Does the VOB have any sound or motion?
Neither. A CR3 is a single still, so the output shows one frozen frame for the duration you set — there is no animation and no audio track. If you want movement, combine multiple images: use the "Merge images" strategy with several stills to build a slideshow-style clip.
Why does my CR3 look slightly different after converting to VOB?
CR3 stores 14-bit unprocessed sensor data, while MPEG-2 inside VOB is 8-bit. During conversion the RAW is demosaiced and reduced to 8-bit, so fine tonal gradients and color depth are compressed. In our testing the framed image is faithful at normal viewing distance, but you lose the editing latitude the RAW had — so keep the original .cr3 if you may want to re-edit.
Should I really convert CR3 to VOB, or to an image format?
For viewing, sharing, or printing a photo, convert to a standard image — CR3 to JPG for a small universal file or CR3 to PNG for a lossless copy. VOB only makes sense when you specifically need MPEG-2 source material for a DVD slideshow or menu.
What resolution should I pick for a DVD source?
DVD-Video is standard definition, so a Fixed resolution of 720×480 (NTSC) or 720×576 (PAL) matches the disc spec most cleanly. Higher presets will be downscaled by your DVD-authoring software anyway, so there is little benefit to exporting a 4K still into a VOB intended for disc.
